‘OUT OF THE GRID: Italian Zines 1978–2006’ is a 450-page book curated by Dafne Boggeri with the collaboration of Sara Serighelli, for SPRINT and O’ associazione non profit. Imagined to be a rhizomatic mapping of independent Italian publishing realities in a timeframe between ‘post-movimento ’77’ and ‘pre- web3.0’. The book highlights 100 projects that span music genres, social movements, sci-fi literature and creative expressions of the period, from role-playing games to hybrid formats of arts.

Each zine is presented to include detailed information and original scans, while interviews with key figures provide a deeper context of understanding. ‘OUT OF THE GRID: Italian Zines 1978–2006’ aims to be a research tool and to offer a valuable archive of the past, present, and future of Italian underground culture.
